Sauvignon Blanc
Aromas of tropical fruit, mineral, and spice are the nose for this fourth year of using the grapes from the vineyard of Lori Kautz. Lush and ripe with flavors of melon, ginger, and spice leads to a clean finish with enough body to enjoy with spicy Asian or BBQ.

Grenache Rose
The nose of this wine is all strawberries and cream. In the mouth again with strawberries and cream, but then also fresh cranberry there. If you’re familiar with the Plumeria, (the small flower used on fresh leis from Hawaii), then you will pick up this and carnation in the flavor. Finishes with a peach skin. Enjoy this summer with Giants baseball.

Sewell
This Rhone blend’s name for our dad is a worthy tribute. Syrah, Mourvedre, Petite Sirah, Grenache, and Cinsault come together again (our ’05 vintage had the same components). Flavors of orange blossom, dry cherry, and lavender. Dry, well balanced and complex (like our dad), always a favorite.

Merlot
We would like to start by saying we like Merlot, a lot. The nose has a hint of chocolate with well balanced French Oak. Flavors of mulberry with layers of plum and current. The oak adds depth and complexity. For only two weeks in the bottle, I’m very pleased.

Cabernet Sauvignon
This Cab was bottled May 19th. I wouldn’t recommend drinking or attempting tasting notes for another three months, but I will try. The nose has deep strawberry verging on blackberry. Flavors of French Oak layer the mouthfeel. Black cherry, raspberry, and fennel are prominent. Hints of clove and tobacco linger in the finish. While this wine is young, it shows promise to be another great value coming from the Sierra Foothills.

Mourvedre
While young, this wine starts with bright and sweet fruit characteristics, Tootsie roll, rhubarb and hints of white pepper. The body of this wine is black cherry, earth, plum and pluot. In the near future these fruit tones will really start to show. Pairs well with pork at our upcoming event.

Estate Zin
Aromas of smoky raspberry and plum are brought out by the new American Oak barrels used on this familiar Estate Zin. The consistency of this vineyard shows fruit and spice, medium body, and a blackberry, brambly with a long finish.

Petite Sirah
So dark in color, it is like the toolie fog on a chilly Central Valley winter night. Flavors difficult to describe. This Petite tastes of some yet undiscovered deep, dark, black fruit. Big healthy tannins balanced with bright acidity. Ripe plum and tart cherry lead to a big finish that is classic Petite.

Syrah
Aromas of deep, dark, sweet blackberry, and current. Spice provided by French and American oak. The flavors are consistent with the aromas. Blackberry, current, and cedar stand out. This full bodied wine is young, but with a little patience this will be a stellar Syrah. Long and deep on the finish with lush dark berry.
